The Plukon Food Group operates 18 sites (ten poultry slaughterhouses and eight processing and packaging plants) in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France, with a weekly slaughter volume of 9 million chickens. Its turnover reached 1.7 billion euros in 2017. The Plukon Food Group employs more than 5,000 people.
The Friki brand was established in 1964, long before the Plukon Food Group had become a reality. Plukon delivers products under the Friki brand to the retail channel in both the Netherlands and Germany.
In 1978, Friki merged with poultry farm Bekebrede in Barneveld to become the PLUimvee KOmbinatie Nederland. Plukon Convenience became independent in 2010 and sells high-quality precooked products to customers in the food service and industry channel. The Friki brand is sold by this division.
